19 September 2017 - Merry Monarchs Part I - Mary Bodfish...

The Society looks forward to welcoming members and non members on Tuesday 19 September to an interesting talk entitled "Marry monarchs Part I" by Mary Bodfish where we will learn more about the follies and foibles of Monarchs from William I to Richard III.

17 October 2017 - Shickles of Bordesley and Albany New York - Mike Byrne...

The Society looks forward to welcoming members and non members on Tuesday 17 October to an interesting talk about the Shickles of Bordesley and Albany New York by Mike Byrne who will talk about the family involved with the Peaky Blinders and their subsequent career in New York.

21 November 2017 - Out of the Frying Pan - David Hess...

The Society looks forward to welcoming members and non members on Tuesday 21 November to an interesting talk entitled "Out of the Frying Pan" by David Hess about one couple's escape from Nazi Germany in 1938.

The Society looks forward to welcoming members and non members on Tuesday 19 December to an interesting talk about the Archaeology of Churches in the Diocese of Birmingham by Mile Hodder where we will learn more about our local churches.

16 January 2018 - More Miles than Venice - Blaire Kessler...

The Society looks forward to welcoming members and non members on Tuesday 16 January to start the new year with an interesting talk from Blaire Kessler about the coming of the canals to Birmingham.

20 February 2018- The British Motor Museum - TBA...

The Society looks forward to welcoming members and non members on Tuesday 20 February for an interesting talk charting the history of the British Motor Museum.

20 March 2018 - Bournville Village between the Wars - Michael Harrison...

The Society looks forward to welcoming members and non members on Tuesday 20 March for an interesting talk on Bournville Village between the wars by Michael Harrison where we will hear about the next stage of its development.

17 April 2018 - Sir Josiah Mason - Betty Foster...

The Society looks forward to welcoming members and non members on Tuesday 17 April for an interesting talk on Sir Josiah Mason by Betty Foster who will talk about how he made his fortune and how he spent it.

15 May 2018 - Outing: Acocks Green on foot - A trail led by Mike Byrne...

The Society looks forward to welcoming members and non members on Tuesday 15 May for our annual outing.  This year we will be going to Acocks Green for a walking tour led by Mike Byrne.

19 June 2018 - Annual General Meeting...

This year the AGM will take place on Tuesday 19 June at Hall Green Baptist Church and marks the end of the Societies 2017-18 programme of events.

 

The society looks forward to welcoming its members to the meeting where the programme of events for 2018-19 will be discussed, the committee elected by the members and the finances of the society outlined by the treasurer.

 

After the AGM there will be a talk to be arranged.

All events take place at Hall Green Baptist Church unless stated otherwise
